    •  Commercial Truck Driving (Arkansas Trucking Academy)

UA Cossatot is an Arkansas Trucking Academy (ArkTA) training location.  Through 160 hours of combined virtual/simulation instruction, traditional classroom, and practical over-the-road instruction, you can be licensed and ready to start an exciting new career as a commercial truck driver.

    •  Forklift Operator and Safety

Offered on demand, this 4-hour high-impact training program is designed to help new and experienced operators fulfill the classroom and practical OSHA forklift training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.178(I).  It covers topics that are critical to avoiding accidents and injuries, including general safety, pre-operation, operation, load handling, fuel/battery maintenance, and specialized units.  Call (870) 584-1101 today for more information.  Ask how you may take this course for free.

    • Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant Program consists of a balance between theory instruction and skills training.  Skills training includes both skills demonstration in the classroom lab and skills performance in a clinical setting with residents in a long-term care facility.  Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a certificate of completion and become eligible to sit for the Arkansas Nurse Aid Competency Exam.

    • Pharmacy Technician

This comprehensive program prepares students to work as pharmacy technicians in a retail or other pharmacy setting and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam.  Course content includes pharmacy medical terminology, the history of pharmacy, the pharmacy practice in multiple environments, pharmacy calculations and measurements, reading and interpreting prescriptions, and defining drugs by generic and brand names.  Through classroom lectures and hands-on labs, students will review dosage calculations, drug classifications, the “top 200 drugs”, I.V. flow rates, sterile compounding, dose conversions, aseptic technique, the handling of sterile products, total parental nutrition (TPN), dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control, and billing and reimbursement.

    • Phlebotomy Technician

The Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis.   Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely.  Classroom work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods.   The program also includes lab exercises, live blood draws, work with a training arm and other exercises intended to prepare students to function as entry-level Phlebotomy Technicians.
