DE QUEEN, Ark. — UA Cossatot has completed two new articulation agreements that provide opportunities for graduates of its Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program to continue their education through bachelor’s and master’s degree pathways.
The agreements establish a pathway to a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Science pathway at the University of Cincinnati. Together, these partnerships give UA Cossatot OTA graduates additional options as they plan their next educational and professional steps.
Through the University of St. Augustine agreement, eligible graduates of UA Cossatot’s Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant program may pursue admission to the MOT program without first earning a bachelor’s degree. The agreement identifies prerequisite courses, admission requirements, and advising support to help graduates prepare for the transition.
Applicants must meet requirements that include a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, at least 84 college credit hours, required prerequisite coursework, an active OTA license, and at least one year of work experience as a licensed occupational therapy assistant. Qualified UA Cossatot applicants will receive priority consideration. Admission remains competitive and is not guaranteed.
The agreement also maps UA Cossatot courses to the university’s prerequisites, including anatomy and physiology, developmental psychology, medical terminology, abnormal psychology, sociology, and statistics. Both institutions will provide advising support to help students plan their coursework and navigate the application process.
The University of Cincinnati agreement establishes an additional pathway for OTA graduates to continue their studies toward a Bachelor of Science degree, expanding their options for education beyond the associate degree.
These partnerships reflect UA Cossatot’s commitment to helping students build on the education they receive at the college. By establishing pathways with university partners, UA Cossatot is helping students connect their current training with future academic goals.
Current students and graduates interested in either pathway should contact UA Cossatot’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program for information about eligibility, course planning, and next steps.
