The UA Cossatot Colts and Lady Colts played against the Mountain View College Lions and Lady Lions on Saturday, December 4, in Dallas, Texas.

In the women’s contest, the Lady Colts won their third in a row, downing the Lady Lions of Mountain View College 67-56. UAC used a balanced scoring attack and a tenacious defensive effort to run their season record to 5-3. The Lady Colts were led by Jacia Collins and Mikayla Scott with 11 each, while Ashley Starks and Khuyler Hardy added ten apiece. Head Coach and Athletic Director Robert Byrd said, “I was very pleased with our energy, effort, and enthusiasm. It was a complete team effort.”

In the men’s game, the Colts saw their five-game winning streak snapped, falling 87-82, despite leading throughout most of the contest. UAC led 36-28 at the half and expanded that lead to as many as 13, but could not put away the Lions, who are now 8-1 on their home court. Three Colts fouled out of the game in regulation, including Terry Anderson, who finished the night with 26 points. Dalon Dean had 20, while Malik Nash added 15. “Very disappointing loss for our guys. We have to do a better job of taking care of the ball and defending without fouling,” said Byrd.

Both the Colts and Lady Colts will be in action on Saturday, December 11th, when they travel to Arkansas Baptist. The women’s game will tipoff at 2:00 pm, the men at 4:00. Both games can be seen on ed88radio.com.
