Pilgrim’s Sponsorship Helps with Free GED Testing
March 30, 2017
Thanks to a $500 sponsorship by Pilgrim’s, students can now take the Official GED® test at no cost.
Pilgrim’s has a long-standing reputation of supporting adult education in Southwest Arkansas, and UA Cossatot Adult Education is grateful for their partnership.
The current GED® test has four parts, which includes: Reasoning through Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics. Each part is $4 for a test total of $16. This cost is minimal compared to neighboring states, which can be up to $145. Now, for a limited time, students can take each test for free.
These funds will eliminate the burden that some students face when paying for the test. Students earning a GED® credential can then go to college, get a job, or get a job promotion.
“We’ve had so many students who were up for a job promotion but lacked a high school diploma or GED® credential,” stated Jennifer Black, Director of Adult Education.
For those interested in job training in welding or office technology, Accelerating Opportunities is a program that allows students to earn a GED® credential and college credits or potentially a degree.
If you are interested in obtaining a GED® credential, visit UAC Adult Education in De Queen, Nashville, or Dierks.
Black said, “Our friendly staff will help you get started. The program has flexible hours and distance learning options to accommodate anyone’s schedule.”
Call Jennifer Black or Cathy Billingsley at 870-584-1114 or visit the UAC Adult Education page for more information while these funds are available.
