Cooke Establishes Scholarship with UA Cossatot Foundation
May 25, 2022
The UA Cossatot Foundation recently received a $500 gift from Johnny and Alisa Cooke of Lockesburg, Arkansas, to establish the My Dream, My Future Scholarship. The donation was presented to the UA Cossatot Foundation at Fiesta Fest, an event that focuses on celebrating the Southwest Arkansas community while raising funds for local college students.
The scholarship will award one student $500 each spring semester. Eligible applicants will need to be non-pell eligible, have a 2.5 GPA or higher, Sevier County resident preferred, and an essay emphasizing specific career goals.
Cooke stated that one of their favorite quotes is from John F. Kennedy, saying, “All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have an equal opportunity to develop our talent.”
Cooke added, “This quote is exactly why we have initiated this scholarship. So that it does just what the quote states, providing a student with an opportunity to achieve their educational goal.”
The UA Cossatot Foundation welcomes gifts of any amount to support scholarships and help UA Cossatot achieve its educational mission.
UA Cossatot’s Director of Development Dustin Roberts said, “Johnny and Alisa have a big heart for helping students. Their generous donation will significantly impact UA Cossatot students.”
