    Concurrent Students

UA Cossatot offers college credit to high school students through several different programs.

    • Secondary Career Center:  This is a skill driven program for students to be bused from their high school to a UAC campus for training in Automotive Service Technology, Collision Repair, Medical Professions, Education, and Welding
    • Dual Credit Courses:  These courses are traditionally taken on your high school campus and count for both high school and college credit
    • Concurrent Courses:  These courses are taken in addition to your coursework in high school and count only for college credit.

Note:  You must also successfully complete each concurrent/secondary course with a 2.0 GPA or better to continue to take concurrent/secondary courses with UA Cossatot.

Regardless of the options,] you are interested in above, you will need to follow the steps below to complete the admission and enrollment processes.

    1. Apply for Admission: All students wishing to attend UA Cossatot must first complete a concurrent enrollment admission application.

    2. Complete a Concurrent Enrollment Form:
    - For Secondary Career Students: The Concurrent Enrollment Form is a contract between you and your parents to see that you succeed in your UA Cossatot classes. You will need a new one of these each year that you take secondary courses.

    - For Concurrent & Dual Credit students: The Concurrent Enrollment Form is a contract between you, your parents, and your school’s administrators to see that you succeed in your UA Cossatot classes. You will need a new one of these each semester that you take concurrent courses.

    3. Submit Documents:  You will need to submit the following documents to complete the admissions process. You will have a hold on your account until you can provide your official high school transcript showing a graduation date and final GPA.

    • Official high school transcript with GPA up to the semester applying for (must be sent directly from high school)

    • Placement scores:  ACT, SAT, Asset, PLAN, EXPLORE, Compass, ACT Aspire   (UA Cossatot offers the Compass test through Testing Centers on all three campuses)

    • Proof of immunization showing TWO doses of MMR (Arkansas state law requires we keep on file proof of two immunizations against measles (rubella), and one immunization against rubella and mumps. Your high school, county health department, or family doctor may have a copy of your shot record.)

    • Additional documentation may be required, such as a copy of a valid driver's license or signed social security card.

    4. Register for classes: Once we have received these documents, you will be able to register for classes. The High School Programs Office can assist you in enrolling in the courses you may need.
