    Board of Visitors Members

    Tyler Davis, Chair

    Tyler Davis is a native of Ashdown, Arkansas. He is a 2002 graduate of Ashdown High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville with a BS in Agriculture, Food, and Life Sciences. 

    He currently serves as Market President for Diamond Bank in Ashdown and resides on his farm with his wife and four children. Tyler also serves on the Little River County Intermodal and Economic Development Authority and as Justice of the Peace.

    Mike Cranford, Vice Chair

    Mike Cranford of Foreman, Arkansas, is a lifelong resident of Little River County. He served a four-elected term as City of the Foreman Recorder/Treasurer, and several years as the Little River County Judge. Mike recently retired from his county judge position and twenty-two years of public service. Mike also helps people with disabilities enjoy the great outdoors through his Southern Sportsmen Foundation.

    Angie Walker, Secretary

    Born and raised in Northeast Arkansas, Angie Walker is a 1997 graduate of Remington College in Little Rock, Arkansas with an associate degree in Legal Studies.

    In 2003, she and her husband Dr. Randy Walker relocated to De Queen to establish the Walker Family Practice Clinic to care for the residents of Sevier County. The Walkers employ UA Cossatot graduates as nursing staff.

    Since then, Walker has led numerous healthcare quality improvement projects for the state. Some of these projects include the Medicare Care Management Program, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease program, and Chronic Kidney Disease program with the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care; the Arkansas Chronic Illness Collaborative and Arkansas Clinic Transformation with the Arkansas Department of Health; and the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. 

    Walker also serves as an active board member for the First State Bank of De Queen, the Industrial Park Board, and Aledade. She is also a Sevier County Justice of the Peace, 6th District.

    Barbara Dixon

    Barbara Dixon

    Barbara was born and raised in Texarkana, graduating from Liberty-Eylau High School in 1979 and having attended Texarkana Community College. She has lived in Lockesburg since 1984 and is married to Kenny Dixon with two sons and three granddaughters. 

    Barbara currently serves as Branch President of Bank of Lockesburg and has worked in the banking field for 35 years. She also attended the three-year banking school program held at the Christian Brothers University, Memphis, TN,  known as the Paul W Barret, Jr Graduate School of Banking, graduating cum laude in 2012.     

    Barbara is proud to be part of the Lockesburg Community and appreciates the value of having the former Lockesburg School campuses again being used for educational purposes.  She has also served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Lockesburg Lion’s Club since 2016. Her hobbies include reading, quilting, being outdoors, and being with family. 

    Dori Gutierrez

    Barbara Dixon

    Dorisandra Gutierrez was born in Mexico and brought to the United States at the age of 9. In 2011, she became a United States Citizen. She got her GED in 2003 and an Associate of Arts degree in 2008 at Cossatot Community College. She graduated from Southern Arkansas University in 2010 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Gifted Education in 2018 from Arkansas State University.

    She worked as a second-grade teacher for three years at Cossatot River Schools and has been a first-grade teacher at De Queen Public Schools since 2013. She served as a board member for the State and Public School Life and Health Insurance Board for three years and is currently the De Queen Athletic Booster Club Secretary.

    Dorisandra is married and has two daughters. She enjoys going to their activities, reading, and being an active member of the community.

    Barbara Horn

    Barbara Horn

    Senator Barbara Horn served in the Senate for 10 years, from 2001 through 2010. In the 87th General Assembly, she chaired the Senate Insurance and Commerce Committee.

    Senator Horn is a businesswoman who ran the Horn Insurance Agency of Ashdown. She is a Past President of the Little River Chamber of Commerce.

    In recognition of her work for the citizens of southwest Arkansas, a portion of Highway 41 in and near Foreman was named after Senator Horn.

    In 2009, more than 200 people celebrated the grand opening of the Barbara Horn Civic Center at the Little River campus of Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas. She has been an active supporter of the Little River campus since it opened in 1996.

    In 2019, she has bestowed the rank of UA Cossatot Board Member Emeritus.​ Senator Horn served as a member of the UA Cossatot Board of Visitors for the previous 17 years, during which time she was largely responsible for acquiring the necessary funding to secure the current location of UA Cossatot’s Ashdown campus.

    The board acknowledged that Senator Horn had gone above and beyond the normal call of duty to serve as a long-time board member of UA Cossatot. Board members expressed their appreciation for her dedicated service and her continued friendship.

    She is a native of Mountain Pine, in Garland County. Her late husband, Hoye Horn, was a Little River County Judge, a Korean War veteran, and a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. They have three children.

    Dr. Glenn Lance

    Dr. V. Glenn Lance, DDS is a Dentistry Practitioner in Nashville, AR. Nashville Family Dentistry is owned by Dr. Glenn Lance and his wife Cynthia. They are located at 700 N. Main St. in Nashville. Dr. Lance is now a Colonel in the National Guard, and a personal pilot. 

    Ellen Moreland

    Ellen Moreland graduated from Glenwood High School in 1984 and then pursued her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Henderson State University graduating in 1989. She continued her education obtaining a Master of Nursing Science in 1995 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Ellen has worked as a Nurse Practitioner for 26 years first in the field of Neurosurgery and currently in Family Practice.  She is currently employed by HealthStar Physicians of Hot Springs and cares for patients in her community at Glenwood Family Medicine. Ellen resides in Glenwood with her husband, Joe. Ellen has two sons, one granddaughter, and one grandson, all of whom she adores.  Ellen is actively involved in her community as well as her church activities while continuing to serve on other boards.  Ellen enjoys time with family and friends, cooking, and watching all Razorback sports.

    Brenda Tate

    Brenda Tate

    Brenda Green Tate graduated from Ashdown High School in 1975 and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1978. She has one son and three grandchildren. She retired on May 21, 2020, from Ashdown Elementary School. During her 41 years of teaching, she learned to be patient, teach and love the children! She enjoys riding her bicycle, walking, working on word find puzzles, and keeping in touch with family and friends.
