Enrollment

The Cossatot Child Development and Safety Center (CCDSC) is open to students of Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas. First priority will be given to CCCUA students. If vacancies remain available, children from the general public will be considered to fill those vacancies.

Ages Accepted

The CCDSC is licensed by the State of Arkansas, Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education, Child Care Licensing Unit. The Center is licensed to serve 53 children:

  • 15 pre-school children
  • 13 toddlers
  • 13 waddlers
  • 12 infants

The CCDSC provides care for children from 6 wks. to preschool.

Hours of Operation

The CCCUA Child Development and Safety Center will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Applications are available in the CCCUA Office of Financial Aid or at the Child Development and Safety Center.

Special Features

The CCDSC is equipped with developmentally appropriate equipment, including:

  • computers equipped with interactive learning software
  • multi-cultural teaching aids
  • manipulative tools to encourage fine and gross motor skill development
  • a preschool loft for dramatic play experiences
  • toddler learning centers

Security

The CCDSC will ensure that your child is safe while in our care. A security system is installed with video cameras for your child's protection. The center also has a secured entry system to keep outsiders from entering the facility without proper security clearance. Parents are encouraged to drop in and visit with their children throughout the day.
