TO ACCESS YOUR FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION ONLINE
Students can now access their federal financial aid information via the web by using a PIN number assigned to you by the government.
WHY WOULD I NEED TO ACCESS MY FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION?
Many students are applying for financial aid electronically now, rather than filling out the paper FAFSA. With a PIN you can:
1. File the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA application on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov, as well as make electronic corrections.
2. Your PIN number also acts as your signature when filing electronically. (Parents can also apply for a PIN number to act as their signature to speed up the application process when you file electronically.)
3. You can also access your financial aid history (particularly your loan history) at www.nslds.ed.gov to keep track of how much you’ve borrowed over the years.
HOW DO I APPLY FOR A PIN NUMBER?
Just go to www.pin.ed.gov and choose the option to apply for a PIN. You will be asked to provide your name, social security number, date of birth, mailing address and email address. Once your data has been submitted, the PIN number will automatically pop up on the screen.
The good news is that you can use this PIN number for years to come. Whether you use it just during your studies at CCCUA, or continue to use it long after leaving CCCUA, the number remains the same.
