Domestic Violence Roundtable Discussion Set
09 September 2004
DE QUEEN – Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas, in conjunction with the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Southwest Arkansas Domestic Violence Center, will host a multi-county roundtable discussion at the CCCUA campus in De Queen and at its Extension sites in Nashville and Ashdown. The discussion will be held in the AV-2 rooms on September 16, from 6PM to 9PM. The public is invited to this free event.
Sandra Renfrow, Executive Director of the Southwest Arkansas Domestic Violence Center, said, “The roundtable discussion is for anyone working in law enforcement, victim advocacy, prosecution, or healthcare, for example the hospitals and nurses who see and treat domestic violence victims, and anybody else who might work with individuals involved in domestic violence or child abuse.” She noted that the focus of the discussion will be to better establish cooperative efforts and communication among service providers who work with individuals involved in domestic violence. Topics will include: identifying barriers to working together, service gaps and problems, implementing training, orders of protection, improving investigation and prosecution, dating violence, and domestic violence as it relates to specific populations or cultures.
Those interested in participating should RSVP to the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Office at (870) 584-4471, or toll-free at (800) 844-4471.
