CCCUA Releases Chancellor's, Dean's Lists

DE QUEEN - Kristin Bowden, Vice Chancellor and Dean of Academic Services at Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas, has released the Chancellor's and Dean's Lists for the spring 2002 term.

Bowden said of the students who made the lists, "We are very pleased that we have this many high-achieving students. For the Spring, 2001 term, we had 41 on the President's list and 60 on the Dean's list. This term, we have 74 on the Chancellor's List and 75 on the Dean's List. We attribute at least part of the significant jump in the number of students on these lists to our affiliation with the U of A last year - we are attracting some students who would do well anywhere, but were going to four-year schools instead." Spring, 2002 enrollment was up nearly 10% from 2001, to 940. Last December, CCCUA was ranked by Community College Week as the 31st-fastest growing two-year college in the nation with an enrollment under 2,500.
Cossatot Community College offers both Associate's degrees and technical certification in a wide range of fields on its campus at De Queen, at extension sites at Nashville and Ashdown, and at http: //cccua.edu. It has an enrollment of over 900 students, and is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools' Higher Learning Commission.
