Second Annual Bass Tournament Update
Release Date: 26 MARCH 2001

DE QUEEN - Cristy Brecheisen, one of the faculty/staff coordinators of the Second Annual Endowment Fund Bass Tournament, has released a current list of local merchants who are donating merchandise, cash and other items to the Tournament this year. The Tournament is to be held Saturday, April 7 at Oak Grove Pavilion on De Queen Lake.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the College's Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund, authorized by the College's Board of Trustees in the summer of 1999, has set a goal of raising $1 million by 2005. A one-million dollar endowment would fund sixty permanent scholarships to the school.

Brecheisen said, "We have nearly fifty sponsors, more than double last year's. And we want people to know that the first fifteen entries we receive will get free hats and t-shirts from the CTC Bookstore." Advance entries are preferred at CTC's three campuses and Baker's Pawn in De Queen, but fees can be paid onsite at Oak Grove Pavilion. The entry fee is $30 per boat.

Brecheisen added, "We've seen a lot more excitement about the tournament this year, even though there are some other events in the area on that same day. People are very enthusiastic about the prize money we're offering, and have been telling all their fishing friends about it." Registration information is available at any Cossatot Technical College campus, or at Baker's Pawn in De Queen.
