DE QUEEN - Barbara Lacefield, Coordinator for Continuing Education and Business Outreach Programs at Cossatot Technical College, has announced that the College will offer a class in "Investing Basics" at the College's Nashville campus beginning February 6th. The weekly class will meet Tuesday evenings through March 13th, from 6:30 to 8PM. The instructor is Laura Ferguson an Investment Reprsentative for EdwardJones. Ferguson, a graduate of the University of Arkansas, holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters degree in the Art of Teaching. The deadline for registering for the class is January 22. The course will include discussions of Monitoring Your Cash Flow; Managing Your Debt; Developing A Budget; The Difference Between Saving and Investing; Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds; and Tax Considerations.
Lacefield said, "Investing Basics is not just for people who are interested in investing in the stock market; it's for anyone who wants to take control of their money. Most people have mortgage payments, general living expenses, car payments, and other expenses that make it difficult to take control of their finances. That's why we are providing this class, which will give participants the tools to do the hardest part - get started."
Cossatot Technical College, founded in 1991, is one of the fastest-growing schools of its kind in Southwest Arkansas.
