ABOUT CCCUA
Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas is a two-year
college nestled in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains of southwest
Arkansas. As one of the fastest-growing small colleges in the United
States, CCCUA has expanded from the main campus in De Queen to add
extension sites in Nashville and Ashdown. We’re also one of
the newest members of the University of Arkansas System. Classes
are also offered through a number of area high schools, and on-site
in spaces provided by business and industry. Since 1975, we’ve
been helping people learn more, so they can live better. You have
choices in education, so class schedules at CCCUA are prepared with
the specific goal of meeting your needs. On-campus classes are generally
conducted Monday through Thursday between 8:00am and 9:00pm. Classes
are also offered on weekends, via the Internet, and through satellite
transmissions.
A caring, qualified faculty is available for consultation and advice
after class. In addition, our Student Services staff regularly goes
the extra mile to assist students with scheduling, financial aid,
counseling, and other services.
The Kimball Library on the De Queen campus is a pleasant place
for studying, doing research, or reading for pleasure. The upper
story of this building houses our new Donn Allison Technology Center,
with five computer labs, an interactive video classroom, Bookstore,
and other features.
CCCUA offers a multitude of ways to help you shape your future.
If you plan to enter a vocation that requires an Associate of Applied
Science Degree or a Technical Certificate, we can help. You might
need an Associate of Arts Degree or Associate of General Studies
Degree so you can transfer to a four-year school. A Certificate
of Proficiency in a short-term program will help you get into the
job market quickly. Or you might just need a refresher or skills
update in one of our seminars or workshops. All of these are available
at Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas. In
addition, we offer a number of short-term courses, both credit and
non-credit, throughout the year. These courses meet personal, career,
business and industry needs, and are designed to deal with a variety
of topics. Serving you is the primary goal of the College faculty
and staff.
Education opens doors to a brighter future and a bigger income,
but your determination and ambition are the keys that will enable
you to get there. We have the elements you need to prepare for your
future. It’s your future – we want to help you get there.
